Funding Request Criteria
The mission of the Chatham PTO is “to support the administration, teachers, staff and families in all three Chatham public schools as they collectively work to create a learning environment that fosters the academic and social development of our children.“
As a result, all funding requests should align with this mission and aim to serve the maximum number of students. The Chatham PTO will consider funding requests that support an entire grade, school or department (social studies, math, library, etc.) The Chatham PTO will not entertain any funding request that supports a small number of students or a particular sub-group of the school population.
All funding requests need to be filled out in their entirety and submitted to the appropriate building Principal for approval before being forwarded to the PTO. If the school Principal does not think the request aligns properly, he/she may work with the requestor to rework the request so that it does meet the PTO guidelines.
Funding requests will be considered at each monthly meeting and a vote will be taken for approval. Requesting person will be notified immediately of the PTO’s decision.
